  • 📅 Date: June 2026

  • 🎥 Video: Day 3

  • 📖 Lesson Learned: You Can't Predict Every Crowd

  • ❤️ Biggest Win: Introduced Sweetie Heatie to dozens of new potential customers.

  • 📦 Biggest Challenge: We prepared for a much larger crowd than actually showed up.

  • 🚀 Next Goal: Better forecast inventory while staying prepared for busy events.

🎥 Watch Day 3 of our journey as we serve at Rails & Ales. We prepared for one outcome, experienced another, and walked away with a lesson that will shape every event we do from here on out.

Not every event is going to be a sellout—and that's okay.

Going into Rails & Ales, we expected large crowds and prepared accordingly. We stocked extra food, planned for long lines, and wanted to make sure we never ran out.

Instead, the night turned out to be much slower than we anticipated.

At first, it was a little disappointing seeing so much food left over. But after reflecting on the event, I realized this wasn't a loss—it was a lesson.

Running a food truck isn't just about cooking great food. It's about learning your market, understanding different types of events, and finding the balance between being prepared and over-preparing.

The silver lining was that we introduced Sweetie Heatie to a whole new group of people. Every customer who stopped by became someone who now knows our name, our food, and our brand.

Rails & Ales also taught us something we'll carry into every event moving forward: it's okay to sell out.

Selling out means people wanted what you made. It means your inventory planning is getting better. We'd rather leave knowing we served every item we planned for than spend the night wondering what to do with extra food.

Every event teaches a different lesson, and this one taught us that success isn't always measured by sales alone. Sometimes it's measured by the experience you gain and the smarter decisions you'll make at the next stop on the journey.
